Economic Development

Though many associate sustainability exclusively with greening the environment, we must green the economy, too. Simply put, no region can survive, let alone thrive, without jobs and plenty of them. But old models of industrial development and recruitment will no longer do. We must build on the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Western North Carolina to establish new models of financial restoration and growth, and to reinvent the concept of productivity that embraces human and ecological needs.
