- Lt. Commander Nathan Epling of the Blue Ridge Parkway, spoke on the Parkway’s fleet management strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of employee vehicles.
- Mary Carol Koester, National Forests in North Carolina, introduced the Western North Carolina Report Card on Forest Sustainability she helped develop
- Ben Prater, Associate Director, Wild South, on how community involvement is critical to the success of sustainability issues on public lands.
- John Odell, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, spoke on volunteer efforts to monitor and control invasive exotic plant species.
- Zev Friedman of Living Systems Design, spoke diverse forest cropping for job creation and ecological recovery.
- Robert Eidus, Southern Appalachian School for Growing Medicinal Plants, spoke on the challenges created by over-harvesting of wild plants.
